Tuesday 18th June is International Picnic Day. Whether you’re taking the meeting to the park or just enjoying the British summer from inside the office, our new Picnic menu is sure to be a hit. This is a bumper edition of a menu featuring many of our favourite bites of deliciousness including homemade sausage rolls, scotch eggs, mini rainbow quiches, fried chicken and savoury muffins. This menu has a whopping 5 finger foods per person as well as traditional bloomer sandwich fingers, potato salad, and two desserts – flapjacks and fruit skewers. The word “picnic” probably gets its origins from the French language, specifically from the word “pique-nique”. It is believed that this type of informal outdoor meal became a popular pastime in France after the French Revolution in the mid-1800s when it was possible again to get out into the country’s royal parks. However, even if it began in France, it has become a lovely activity that has spread all over the world. Outside in the sunshine or inside the office – this summer the Picnic menu is going to be enjoyed by everyone.

Plant Based Packaging

Plant-Based Packaging Buffet Platter BoxWe understand the importance of plant-based packaging to ensure that all our catering is delivered in the best possible quality to our customers. We also understand the impact that this packaging has on the environment and we have spent a long time researching the best possible solution to minimise this.

So we are excited to announce that from Monday 30th January we will be delivering all our buffet catering in Plant Based Packaging. Previously we used reusable plastic trays and we are now moving to a natural look platter box. Those of you who have enjoyed our individual lunch platter boxes will be familiar with this type of packaging – we will be using the same but just bigger for our buffet catering. These platter boxes are fully bio-degradable and may be recycled or used in a compost bin. If you have a special function that requires more than the natural platter box to make the presentation of the food to pop then you may upgrade to the Bamboo board option.
